THREE PART STRATEGY
It's been estimated that a full energy transition will create 18 million jobs, but about 6 million jobs will go away in fossil fuels and related industries. So the challenges are to implement the first (Invent and Build) and help the second find jobs either in the new economy or helped transition to other activities.
I. Create the new industries and jobs (invent and Build)
2. Help those displaced into new businesses, jobs or activities (Just Transition).
3. Costs borne as small fees for such activities as $ 10 per airlines flight, 0.5% financial transactions fee, and 25% added tax on profits of fossil fuel companies and related industries. All increases in cost for common folks will be rebated or credited based on income level.
Climate Solutions are presented by its opponents as something in which we will have to do without or do with less. Nothing is further from the truth! We will instead have more plentiful renewable energy for our Expanding needs!
While there is definite need for decreasing wasteful luxurious and polluting living by the billionaires and richer upper classed, these solutions can actually create plenty of renewable energy for our EXPANDING needs. While it is true that we have to stop our polluting ways, the whole world's population and certainly all US citizens can enjoy a sustainable prosperity that meeds the production and consumption needs of all through a pro-employment and pro-environment jobs and economy strategy.
NATIONAL STRATEGY - AN INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE WHOLE NATION BY 2040
We will organize an National Energy Transition (NET) Department composed of the ENHANCED versions of the Departments of Energy, Transportation, Commerce, Labor, and Education, combined with NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration) to implement a Plan Rational process where government cooperates with industry, organizations, financial institutions and private individuals to transform the whole nation. We are doing it in Defense - why cannot we do it for the whole economy? Trump's destruction of the Department of Education will ENSURE THAT OUR WHOLE POPULATION WILL BE DUMB AND UNEDUCATED!! We will revamp and expand the Department of Education so that it makes sure the US produces the most well educated, highly skilled workforce and business leaders to lead this process of making the leader in these industrial areas and promoting the EXPORT of these products and services (A much better way of solving the Trade Deficit than Trump's killer Tariffs!!).
THE INNOVATION PROCESS: Innovation led by research in Federal Research Labs, Revamped University Research, Research by companies and innovation by private individuals. These will do the research and development (R&D) of new or improved technologies (R&D), a process which the US has been good add, but which is being destroyed by the Trump Administration. We will joyfully INVENT - we have great ingenuity.
THE INDUSTRIAL BUILDING PROCESS: In the past we have been good at inventing things but no good at deploying or building things. So we invent things and then China is the one that deploys them and exports to the rest of the world (e.g. Solar Panels). This is a really dumb process and ensures we will fall further and further behind. In their book, "Abundance", Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson outline what we need to do: "INVENT AND BUILD".

HERE IS A SHORT LIST
ELECTRICAL ENERGY
1. START THE REPLACEMENT all fossil fuel power plants with renewable energy power plants (BY 2050) - build factories to build the parts required.
2. Besides large power plants, favor the small scale production of electricity - communities self sufficient in energy but connected to national grid.
3. Invest tax dollars in transmitting electrical energy everywhere - build factories for modernizing an outdated bad national grid.
4. Reform and transform the Utility Industry nationally to be totally planning for the above and make sure consumers benefit from the low cost of solar energy.
5. Since the sun only shines for part of a day, innovate big time in Energy Storage of every kind - batteries, compressed air, green hydrogen produced by electrolysis of water, etc. - build factories and deploy these energy storage methods alongside community solar and the national electrical grid.
TRANSPORTATION
1. Innovate in order to produce the lowest cost battery electric vehicles, including those with switchable battery packs. Encourage new factories for this and new charging location by the millions.
2. Innovate in order to produce the lowest cost hydrogen fueled fuel cell vehicles that use the green hydrogen (energy storage method) - build new factories for this.
3. Innovate and get folks to compete on new ideas to CONVERT OR RETROFIT gasoline and diesel vehicles to convert them to battery electric and fuel cell vehicles.
4. Begin the REPLACEMENT of all fossil fuel vehicles (About 280 million vehicles in 2022 - private and commercial) at the rate of about 11 million vehicles per year, of the above three types, so there are no fossil fuel vehicles on the road by 2050 - build factories that replace or convert them.
5. Innovate to build low cost solar powered light weight rail and road transit, including ideas like Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), for use of travelers without cars. Use this to transport freight also. Use this to reduce traffic congestion and pollution on roads and highways. Build "Made in America" transit systems for the first time in the US.
6. Innovate to build low cost solar powered light weight High Speed Rail (HSR) to link all major cities in the US. ALL of the current technology, including those of Europe, Japan and China are TOO EXPENSIVE and use too much energy. So we will build "Made in America" factories for the first time in the US.
7. We will export transit and high speed rail to the rest of the world or collaborate with other nations so we can make money on it too, but some employment components for US workers and businesses.
INDUSTRY
1. Transforming all fossil fuel use in heating, furnaces, cooling, melting, etc. from fossil fuels (coal, diesel and natural gas) to renewable energy in direct and stored forms
2. Big ones are the making of Steel and Aluminum and all processing of mining equipment.
3. Next one is all the activities needed in manufacturing operations - stamping, molding, glass making, plants, etc.
4. Where only a gas can do the work - we can produce green Hydrogen from solar electrolysis of water and use that - replacing coal with this will be a big task that we will accomplish through RDD&D.
HOMES AND BUILDINGS
1. New designs that are energy efficient, produce more solar energy than they consume, and use well insulated and well ventilated designs that reduce the energy consumed in heating and cooling to very low levels. This will include air source heat pumps. In cold climates the ground 10 feet below stays at a constant temperature - this will be used to include ground source (geothermal) heat pumps that use on average only 25% of the energy (all electric) for heating and cooling (Which Austria does today).
2. New designs that are modular so that they can be fabricated in new manufacturing plants and rapidly installed.
3. All new solar homes and buildings will be designed to produce at least as much energy as they consume - Net Zero.
4. All new homes and building will have electric vehicle chargers, with enough solar energy to fully charge the vehicles. With research and development the homes can even have domestically produced hydrogen for home use and to provide fuel for fuel cell vehicles.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
1. We will industrialize Energy Efficiency. Both to support homes and buildings activity up and retrofits, we will create industries that can design and build the packages needed to rapidly install in new homes and retrofitted ones.
2. Nationally all houses will be retrofitted with more all electric energy efficient appliances for heating, cooling, cooking and water heating. The retrofitting campaign will begin and be completed for all homes and buildings by 2050.
RECYCLING
1. We will industrialize Recycling: This is a great areas for industries. We will create nationally recycling centers in each community that efficiently gather and have already sorted the different materials. People will be employed or paid for gathering of recycled materials
2. Recycling industries will be created for achieving 100% recycling of aluminum, and at least 90% recycling of paper (which S. Korea does today), glass and cardboard.
DISASTER MANAGEMENT - YES! BELIEVE IT OR NOT - DISASTER MANAGEMENT CAN BE BETTER WITH NEW INDUSTRIES!!
1. We will industrialize Disaster Management: We will create industries for all that is needed for disaster management - Before, During and After.
2. Before disasters, nationally we will create and implement designs for emergency tornado and hurricane shelters in all houses and buildings, fore resistant emergency shelters in wildfire prone areas, and storm surge shelters in coastal areas or areas that can see catastrophic flooding.
3. We will create industries for new homes and buildings or retrofitted ones that are resistant to tornadoes, hurricanes, storms, earthquakes or wildfires ( for each respective region).
4. We will create industries for mobile, modular mini houses on trailers that can be rapidly wheeled in to evacuation centers to house families. These will be solar powered, and have also units for medical, cooking and activities along with the housing units. These will rapidly provide temporary housing in large numbers to evacuees.
5. After areas are devastated by disasters, residents whose homes got destroyed will either be relocated or will be assisted to "Build Better Back" homes that are resistant to the next disaster.
